Mr Thorp has over twelve years of experience in primary education, having taught across the full primary age range in UK school settings. Throughout his career, he has held a range of roles including Class Teacher, Key Stage 2 Year Leader, Mathematics Subject Leader, Assistant Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
His experience spans classroom teaching and whole-school leadership, supporting curriculum development, staff growth and high standards of teaching, behaviour and wellbeing. His professional journey continues to evolve through ongoing professional development, maths mastery work and collaboration with the school communities he serves.
Mr Thorp is passionate about building pupils’ confidence and independence as learners, using clear instruction, strong relationships and inclusive practice to support every child. He believes that all pupils thrive in a safe, supportive and structured environment where expectations are clear, wellbeing is prioritised and every child feels valued, challenged and able to succeed.
