Mrs Staeblein’s love of languages stems from the three years spent living in the Netherlands as a child. She learnt Dutch and her classmates were from all over the world. She was excited to learn about them, their mother tongue and also their culture. She finds that exposing pupils to the culture of native speakers is the key to motivation and their intrigue inspires them to become independent learners. She always incorporates some aspect of culture into her lessons whether it be music, interesting news stories, TV, way of life or just a quirky fact.
Mrs Staeblein graduated from Warwick University with a degree in German with French in 2010 and spent her Erasmus year in Cologne working for a Petrochemicals company. After graduating, she went on to complete her PGCE at the University of Manchester and taught German KS3-KS5 and French KS3-KS4 in Hull and Lincolnshire. After 3 years of teaching in the UK, she moved to Munich, where she worked in a British International School. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching children from all over the world and gained experience with the iGCSE and also teaching primary school children. In Munich, she met her husband and now has two bilingual daughters. Since starting a family, Mrs Staeblein has moved back to the UK and has done private tuition from her home. She has taught a vast range of students, including A1-B2 adult learners and really enjoys the challenge of creating personalised lessons which are tailored to the individual needs of the learners.
